The light, the smell of tortillas warming on the comal, the feel of the sharp cool air of the Sierra, the sheer joy of the fiesta, the jumble of colors at the markets – Oaxaca is many different sensations. It is a place, regardless of the supposed magic of chapulines, that draws people back again and again. There is life, tradition, and a unique community in the air.
