Café, Mezcal and Other tales: Photos of Oaxaca

by Nuevo Mundo on December 23, 2009

Photographs by Jorge Santiago

The light, the smell of tortillas warming on the comal, the feel of the sharp cool air of the Sierra, the sheer joy of the fiesta, the jumble of colors at the markets – Oaxaca is many different sensations. It is a place, regardless of the supposed magic of chapulines, that draws people back again and again. There is life, tradition, and a unique community in the air. Nuevo Mundo hopes to contribute to the distinct feel of Oaxaca with it’s atmosphere, it’s staff, and of course, it’s local coffee.
The cafe also offers guided tours of the city and the surrounding countryside. We hope your experience both in Oaxaca and here at the cafe will keep you wanting to return again and again.
